What are sectionals anyway? The sectional meet is a step between a national championship and a state championship. Swimmers from the southeastern portion of the US will be competing. We have 8 swimmers plus Coach Maureen competing this year. It is open to swimmers of all ages. Our sectional swimmers this year are: Eric Bruck, Joseph Brenzel, Christian Moody, Cole Pleasants, Kelsey Bobzien, Jessica Dalton, Katie Osborne, and Carmen Pleasants.
What are Junior Nationals? Juniors are a national championship meet for swimmers 18 and under. This year we have two swimmers (so far) who have qualified for Juniors: Eric Bruck and Carmen Pleasants.

For you new folks - please arrive at the Bingo Hall on Clays Mill Road no
later than 5:30 pm. As you drive down Clays Mill Road toward town, the
bingo hall is located in the strip shopping center on the right hand side
of the street just before you get to Jessie Clark Middle School.

The cashier position will
be included in just about everyone's rotation because there is no training
involved. All you have to do is know how to count.
If anyone is
interested in being trained to be a Pull Tab (PT) or Front Desk (FD) captain,
please let me know. These positions stay behind the desk and do not go out
onto the floor to sell the pull tabs.

Eric Bruck finished 3rd last night in the 50 free at the Junior National meet! For those of you new to swimming, this means that he is basically the 3rd fastest swimmer age 18 or under in the country in the 50 free! This is a huge accomplishment and we are all so proud of him!
Eric has signed a letter of intent to swim for Clemson University in the fall of 2009! He will be joining former Dolphin swimmer Seth Broster and former Dolphin Coach Lance Asti. Stay tuned as the year goes on to see where other Dolphin swimmers decide to continue their careers.

Eric Bruck was listed in Swimming World Magazine’s high school championship issue. He was 10th in the country in the 50 free.
